He succeeded Klaus D\u00f6rrer, who will now oversee the development of the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant and other in-car digital technologies. The appointment took effect on August 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Mountain View technology office is one of several strategically located BMW R&amp;D centers worldwide. It focuses on analytics, identifying new technologies, and collaborating with key partners for future BMW products and services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gerhoisser has been with BMW since 2008, starting as an IT specialist in South Carolina. For the past three and a half years, he led the Digital Experience department, including the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant.
